In MAINTENANCE instead, the primary target is repair broken parts and restart the machinery as soon as possible. Parts to be repaired could be made of high carbon or high alloyed steel, nickel, cast iron, aluminum or copper, often of chemical analysis unknown, greasy, rusty and not well aligned; and the maintenance man is not always a skilled welder.
